New Canaan CT Library
My studio was asked to re-imagine New Canaan’s library. In addition to the library project, there is a pavilion component that was integrated to the library and now has become a part of a master plan that incorporates both the library and the pavilion.
Context
The idea was to be able to apply what was learned from the pavilion to the library both in the architectural form but also about orientation and the site studies previously done. One of the strategies I implemented was to study the site and it’s natural drainage patterns. Second I studied the program and decided to split the library into two separate buildings that would function during different hours to provide the different workshops they’re currently struggle to provide due to the lack of space.
